We typically name our coffees after their growing region or, when possible, their specific farm of origin. It’s not often we also get the farmer’s name, but that’s the case here. Yuki Minami is a third generation Japanese-Brazilian coffee farmer. Her family owns and operates Fazenda Santo Antonio as well as the neighboring Olhos D’Água farm, and this coffee is a product of both farms’ efforts. I figured that would be too clumsy for a title, though, so Yuki gets her name on the marquee. This is a truly impressive Brazilian coffee with a rich, silky smooth body and notes of Dutch cocoa, roasted hazelnut, toffee, and cream.
